Twins Kinda Summer
I think it's going to be a Twins kinda summer. My obsession with patio-season elevates to an entirely new level now that an outdoor stadium has been thrown into the mix. We previewed the new stadium before opening day (again, I'm so late on this it's not funny). Still, there are some interesting shots coming out of the whole thing...
That last one is from our shared-part-of-a-season-seats. Loving the skyline view. I can't wait for a night game with that...

Winter Close-Up
Absolutely beautiful crystals on the trees the other day. Gorgeous.

I know this is all natural and beautiful and whatnot, but can we please agree that it looks like a bunch of Koosh balls?

Twin Cities Trek
Well, after almost a full month without blogging (yikes!), I'm back. I'd like to blame my serious lack of posting on something like the holidays or the Fugitive being played repeatedly on HBO or my realization that my thumbs are different lengths, but it would be a lie. Quite simply, I've been slacking.
Ah well. It was nice while it lasted, right? But now here we are with a new post. In fact, I wandered around both Minneapolis and Saint Paul (on a very cold day, I might add) to find some unique shots. Karissa joined me for the Saint Paul leg.
I found a lot of nice patterns/structures.
It became very clear, very quickly, that Karissa and I aren't natural trouble-makers when we had to convince each other it was ok to walk down this semi-private drive near a railroad track. Oh yes, we are rebels. Our cause? To capture embarrassingly non-bad-ass images, like these:

We also found a run down area under the highway. I love the numbers/doors, and like picturing what it might have looked like back in its prime.

And end scene.

The Windy City
I visited Chicago last weekend "just to get away from it all" (because it's soooo far away...). The weather was beautiful, which makes me wonder why the fog never lifted.

I thought this structure was interesting.

Teresa, Kristen, Sam and I walked through a park and a lily garden, where wedding and senior pics were being snapped all around us. It didn't take us long to get in on the action...

Rusted

I went exploring down by the river in St. Paul and was lucky enough to find one of the old buildings open. There were so many old machines covered in rust that I couldn't resists snapping some shots.
I wondered outside and saw these stairs. Be careful! If you stare too long you start to see things like those magic eye posters (except way less cool). I loved the contrast, anyway.
More shots outside.

Trains
There's something about trains that seems so "industrial revolution".
The amount of manual labor that must have been put into setting up the train system is mind-boggling. Each track involves so much wood, steel, and precision in lying perfectly parallel tracks.

here we go...
What you need to know is that I've been trying to name my blog now for months--no lie. You've missed (thankfully) hundreds of photos and random thoughts because I've been unwilling to commit to a name.
You're probably thinking--months of brain-searching and this is all you got? Is this the one? The name of a lifetime?
No. It's not. But I realized as I was grilling out on my friend's rooftop, taking in this spectacular view (see above), that it didn't need a perfect name. It just needs to exist.
So, from here on out I promise to never think about anything this hard again. This blog is just for fun. It's brain farts, overshares and curiousities. If it's in my head, it just might make it this far (and I sincerely apologize for that).
No more thinking. No more editing. Just thoughts, images and randomness.
Enjoy.
