A nice mix of photos depicting winter 2009:
Barren landscapes. Bridges. Barges. Berries. Footprints in the snow. Cracked ice. Frosted windows.

The Aschers
My friend Emily wanted photos of her, her sister Beth and her brother Jeff for their parents for Christmas. We stopped at my Grandma's farm over Thanksgiving to do the shoot. It was so much fun. Most of the photos that didn't make this post are just of them giggling (or laughing in a very manly way, Jeff).
I've never wanted a sister more than when I saw this photo. Seriously--do you see this bond?!
And Jeff really did it up here--a perfect senior photo (if he loved trucks and was a senior).

L-Joe
Back in the day when every celebrity couple had a unit name (think Bennifer), Laura and Joe started dating. Obviously, being the good friend that I am, I gave them the obligatory couple-name: L-Joe. Anyway, long story short, L-Joe had a drama-free relationship that ended in a beautiful wedding. (US Weekly would have been devastated by the lack of sales.) Anyway, they've been married for a few years now and wanted some photos to prove they were still together and happy (WAY above average for "celebrities", but exactly what I'd expect from a great couple like them).
BTW--it was FREEZING outside (after 20 minutes I couldn't feel my fingers or feet) and they still lost their coats for a few shots...and their smiles don't even look that fake!
Aw.

Sister, Sister
My friend Felice wanted sister shots to give to her parents for Christmas. These girls toughed it out on a cold day--running back to their jackets between shots. They make it look easy, though, don't they?
Also, I love this bridge down by Saint Anthony Main where I was shooting. The reflection is great.

Taylor.
Meet Taylor. He's 12. He's very into hockey. And his only request was that I wouldn't make him look lame. Hopefully he's cool with how these turned out. I think he looks very cool, personally.
His mom, Jennifer, also pulled off cool very well.

Olive You
Meet Olive. The sweet little girl I got to spend some time with Saturday morning.
I've never seen someone go through so many emotions so quickly - from wide-eyed curiosity to laughter to serious hunger.
Here, she may have first noticed her hands.
And then look at those cute little feet.
I love this mother-daughter moment. So precious.
And Daddy could calm her down in a second.
Here's to the new family.

Family of Five
Meet the Warner family, who I had the honor of taking photos of a few weeks ago. I got to spend time with Angela, her fiance Chuck, and her kids Stella, Colin and Liam.
I have to say, the kids made my day. They were total hams--cheesing it up in front of the camera and being goofy any chance they had.
Colin mostly wanted to give me crazy faces, but he had a great smile once we found it.
Stella was crazy cute with her hat. And very eager for camera time.
Liam's eyes were awesome. Clear blue.
Near the end of the session, I got to take some engagement shots of Angela and Chuck. I thought they might have trouble gazing lovingly into each others' eyes with the kids jumping around behind the camera, but the minute they turned their attention toward each other they lit up. Clearly a very beautiful couple who is very in love. They made my job easy.
