The Oldest Story In the World
I was recently invited to a behind-the-scenes peak at my friend Julcsi's show, “The Oldest Story in the World: A retelling of the ancient epic of Gilgamesh.”

The what?!, you say? Well, quite simply, the play examines the enduring human question: How do we live knowing that we must die?
Or, it's the story of monsters, floods, sexy gods and goddesses, stolen antiquities, magic potions, falling sand (I’m very curious about this), time travel and giant scorpions. Plus, it contains nudity and adult themes. What's not to like, really?
The rehearsal was fascinating. I was hooked at the first fight scene. It's seriously amazing. People are flying across the stage like rag dolls. You NEED to see this.
(I know this is horribly blurry, but that is a goddess flying through the air on a pool cue...it happened too fast for my camera (in low light) to capture...but my real-life eyes were in awe.)
And when they weren't fighting, they sure were being dramatic. But I suppose that happens when you examine a story originally carved into 11 clay tablets around 1700 BCE – a thousand years before The Iliad.
It was their first time in the space, which was gorgeous.
And they boast having top designers and physical actors/actresses from NYC, LA, Miami and Minneapolis all collaborating on the show.
These are the "sirens" of the show. Their songs are unbelievably eery.
Needless to say, it's a must see. It's out tomorrow, Friday, September 24. Buy tickets now!

Kate: A Natural
I was inspired to explore a new photo location, and Kate (who was over for dinner) was willing to pose for me. Little did I know she would be an absolute natural. Little does she know that she's now destined to be my tester for all eternity...mwa ha ha...
PS. Want your family/holiday photos with those gorgeous blue doors (and park/bridge backgrounds)? Let's make it happen.
